History in Year 11

History in Year 11 for Level one NCEA is a study of twentieth century history selected from the following topics:

  • Institutional Racism (U.S.A – Black Civil Rights/South Africa – Apartheid)
  • Terrorism (Ireland – IRA/paramilitaries/Global – Al Qaeda)
  • The Home Front – New Zealand response to WWII

There are 3 externally assessed achievement standards and 3 are internally assessed achievement standards, with a maximum total of 24 credits available.

History in Year 12

History in Year 12, Level two NCEA is a study of selected eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century history topics from the following:

  • The American Revolution and Republicanism (1776-1783)
  • Revolution in Russia (1894-1924)
  • Vietnam and the Indo-China Conflict

There are 3 externally assessed achievement standards and three internally assessed achievement standards, with a maximum total of 24 credits available.

History in Year 13

History in Year 13 is a study of Elizabethan and Stuart England (1558-1667)

There are 3 externally assesses achievement standards and 2 internally assessed achievement standards, with a maximum total of 24 credits available.
