Wanganui Girls' College has a focus on celebrating the enormous contributions of senior students make to the cultural life of the school. The annual cultural evening acknowledging the efforts and achievements of students involved in dance, drama, music, visual and performing arts.
During this evening cultural colours are awarded to students who have achieved recognition outside of the classroom both regionally and nationally.

Participation in a range of competitions including Pae/Rangatahi/Manu Korero, regional Kapahaka and Maori/English speech competitions are prepared for by this group. Students are proud of their skills and strive to attain the reputation of Mana Wahine.

An exciting student lead dance competition wth students around the region competing for the top spot!
Stage Challenge is a nation wide competition involving thousands of secondary school students and since 2003 also intermediate students in the junior section. Each school presents an eight minute dance performance with full sets, costumes and lighting, which portrays a story or theme.
