Colourful flower gardens and lawns surround Ad Astra Hostel. The comfortable boarding facilities are next to the school and within easy walking distance of Kowhai Park, the city and Art Gallery, Museum, Library and sporting facilities.
Hostel supervisors live on the premises and maintain close links with parents to ensure each student is happy and settled. Sensible guidelines for out-of-school activities are developed in consultation with parents, and boarders are encouraged to use school amenities like the swimming pool, tennis courts and library. Good study habits are encouraged with regular homework hours and staff support
For all, the hostel is a very comfortable and safe "home away from home", but with the most modern facilities. All students can access the College's computer network from the hostel and the College Library is available for senior prep.
