Course description:

The course will cover the following topics:

  • The 5 main approaches to Psychology (Freudian, Behaviourism, Neurological, Cognitive, Humanism);
  • Experimental and non-experimental research methods,
  • Scientific Method,
  • Ethical issues,
  • Basic statistical techniques,
  • Developmental theory.

Successful completion of all standards associated with this course will contribute between 17 and 21 credits towards NCEA level 2. The course has only internally assessed components.
